PeopleCert Update: ITIL V4 is Coming, Key Dates

Here is an update posted today from PeopleCert regarding the release of ITIL V4:

Key Milestones in the Release of ITIL V4!

We recently shared the update from AXELOS concerning the progress of the imminent update to ITIL. We’d like to reiterate how excited we are to witness the next generation of an industry-standard certification come to life.

Prepare to ramp up for ITIL 4!

The impact of the 4th Industrial Revolution is felt by all businesses, and is at its core all about IT. ITIL 4 encapsulates the evolution of IT Service Management and aligns it with wider industry advancements. At the same time, it supports the fact that it remains, from a framework standpoint, essential to today’s business and the role IT plays.

More than 2,000 professionals took part in the ITIL Development Research Group. Their input and proposals have helped steer the development and essential features of ITIL 4.

Key dates ahead

As we move closer to the update, there are a few milestones that you should keep in mind.

  • August 2018:  Next major announcement about ITIL 4 from AXELOS
  • November 2018:  Train the Trainer sessions will commence. Invitations will be sent out in July with more details about the time and location of the sessions
  • Q1 2019:  Public exams will become available

What’s next?

Recognising the need to ensure that your investment in ITIL continues to drive and grow your business, we would like to reassure both you and your customers that ITIL 4 will be compatible with the existing certification scheme. All current certifications for ITIL will remain valid following the update. Meanwhile, candidates should be encouraged to continue their ITIL journey to Expert.

The coming weeks will bring an ITIL marketing campaign launch. Look out for it! Throughout the year we and AXELOS will be attending the premier IT Service Management conferences around the world to present and get your feedback on the ITIL 4 update.

PeopleCert will, of course, keep you up to date with all the developments and timeframes as soon as they are announced, ensuring a smooth transition to the updated courseware and exams.

Stay tuned for these exciting developments!

Regards,

PeopleCert
